Jeff Duke
North Eastern Construction Company - Carpenter Quality Control

Personal Bio:  My life changed in the summer of 2005 when I decided to head down to Ocean City,  MD for a scopes job.  It was very exciting for me at the time because I had never left the area of Harford County.  After my first Summer Scoping I was dead set that this is where I wanted to be. I went from scoping on the beach just summers to working full time, year round as a manager helping to build the company Telecope Pictures.  The guys and girls I worked with became like family to me and I was fully engaged in the beach life with Telescope Pictures until 2015.
With changes in my life, like marrying my wonderful wife Katie in 2014 and working on buying a second house, my full time career path changed to another passion, carpentry and the construction field. I began working on large projects, like the construction of a 350 Million dollar Hospital and spending free time working on home renovations and creative wood working projects.
No matter where life takes me in the future, I know one fact that will remain true and that is no job will ever be as exciting or rewarding as those days I had working the beach with scopes! Even today, when I have the opportunity I will put on those iconic scope shorts and make my way out onto the beach to have another pass on the sand to help families create a great OC memory.

Testimonial: I worked with Telescope Pictures for 13 wonderful years.  Every moment while working on the beach or helping out in the store has been some of the best times of my life.  At Telescope Pictures I have gained skills in Sales, Business, and Management along with many others.  If I had to say what I liked most about the job it would be the reward of seeing the expressions of gratitude on the customer’s face after they have had their  pictures taken and viewed them later in the store.  This is more than a job to me it’s a passion that leaves me begging for more.

Advice to a future recruit: This is not just a job that is going to pay for your summer fun. This is a job that will present an opportunity to create strong people skills and allow you to build great relationships with the people on the beach or in the store. These customers come from all over and will open your eyes to understanding all walks of life, helping you determine what type of person you would like to strive to be. Best of all, the guys and girls you work with will become life long friends that you will have amazing memories with. Finally, remember that we have a limited time on this earth so don’t waste any of it.  Some people are book smart, some people are street smart and others are quick learners.  One thing that everyone has the same amount of is time.  Live life to the fullest and be the best version of you that you can be!
